Tin Plates – Manchester

These beautiful tin plates have been decorated by reproducing some of the finest historic ceramic artwork around the world from museums and private collections.

Their elegance makes them perfect for a period look as a place setting, for serving and for picnics.

They also make attractive wall decorations, on their own or as a group.

The original design is from a Sevres service given as a diplomatic gift by King Louis XVI of France to the Duchess of Manchester, the wife of the British Ambassador to the Court of Versailles. The occasion was for the signature of the Treaty of Versailles which brought an end to the American War of Independence.  The service was acquired by King George IV in 1802.
